Humans have about 400 different types of smell receptors, allowing us to detect over one trillion different scents. For decades scientists thought we could only detect around 10,000, but new research proved our noses are far more capable.
If you fell into a black hole, the difference in gravitational pull on your feet versus your head would stretch you like spaghetti — a process scientists actually call 'spaghettification.' Near a small black hole this would happen almost instantly.
The Sun shines because of nuclear fusion, and quantum tunneling is what makes this possible. Protons in the Sun's core should not have enough energy to fuse together, but quantum mechanics allows them to 'tunnel' through the energy barrier anyway.
